I have recently been contemplating the pruchase of a hard drive for
my IIgs, but I'm not sure if I can find a free slot to plug in the SCSI
card.
I have seen ads that say that the card can be plugged into any slot except
3 but I assume that plugging in the SCSI card overrides that slot's normal
function.
I currently have the following setup, items in () indicate Control Panel
Settings:
Slot 1 - Laser Writer NT (Your Card)
Slot 2 - External modem & Audio Animator card (Modem Port)
Slot 3 - Empty (Built In Text Display)
Slot 4 - Transwarp GS card (Mouse Port)
Slot 5 - 3.5 Disk Drive (Samrt Port)
Slot 6 - 5.25 Disk Drive (Disk Port)
Slot 7 - Empty (Built in Appletalk)
If I plug the HD into slot 7 do I loose Appletalk? Actually, slot 7 is
blocked by the RamKeeper card in the memory expansion slot, so I would
rather put the SCSI somewhere else if I could. Anyone have any
suggestions?
Thanks,
GARY
