It is a simple task.

I don't think so. I think you want to get a SCSI mechanism and I would recomend
any Quantum mechanism. It should bolt right onto the mounting brackets and the
plugs should just plug in. I have just replaced a Seagate mechanism with a
Quantum and it was basically plug and play.
