than $1.00 a meg.  I just bought a 345 meg Maxtor with 10ms access for 
$340.  I've also seen the Western Digital Caviar 345 meg drive for $289 
at a large electronics store in my area also.  If you buy the hard drive 
from them, they give you a CMS case for $25.00.  I guess the prices you 
mention are for those who don't want to assemble their own drive?

It still amazes me that AE sells their 40 meg drive for $700 and the 120 
meg Vulcan Gold for $1795...ugh!
