I think AMACS was written using Merlin. There's no Lisp implementation in
AMACS, just a Lisp editing mode.

Yes, AMACS needs at least 128K RAM. I don't know if there's enough room on a
floppy, but if you throw out the help files, libraries, ..., it could be.

I'm not aware of this. All the documentation is in the archive. BTW, it isn't
corrupt, it's just a 3.5" disk archive.

I think it's a very good, but large editor. It's very similar (as the name
implies) to GNU EMACS. It has extensions (called libraries) like a
directory browser, mail reader, etc.
