And in defense of Ian's player, there's the old adage that a higher-quality
player will often reveal distortions that "noiser" players will inherently
mask. If you don't believe me, listen to the difference between an "oldie"
song played on a tape player and a CD player. The tape will naturally hide
the static/pops/wow/flutter of the original recording whereas a CD will
reveal these defects quite clearly. Now we just need Ian to write scrubbing
routines to clean up these digital defects :)
