Re: What's It All About, Ian?
Ian stated it very well, in my opinion. I'll just try to add what I saw.
page 1 - it talks about ss2, what, when, where, why, future... etc.
page 2 to 5 - basically press releases ( which most can be read online;
atleast on the Internet ). Also special offers for SenvenHills' softs.
Prices are good, same or better than Quality's prices.
page 5 to 7 - stuff related to telecom. A political BBS was listed ( I
think you should advise on how much a long distant call can be if not
kept under control :). It talked about Talk Is Cheap (TIC)'s status,
which was showed here on the net and I presume on major online
services. Also GEnie and AOL's price drop/wars.
page 8 to 12 - Apple Expo West, this is perhaps the best part about
this issue of ss2. Detailed coverage of the event. I was there myself,
and it's got pretty much everything in there.
page 13 to 14 - what's new in 6.0.1. If you read c.s.a2, you should
know everything in it.
page 14 to 15 - customized icons and system 6. This is not really a
good article, imo. It has the steps, but I doubt the users know what
he/she is doing; what the steps do. Articles like this could use some
improvement.
page 16 - 19 - ss2's software library, need I say more?
Soooooooo.... I dunno, there is less than 5% of stuff that I don't already
know from the net. That won't justify me subscribing. Besides, I
am more supportive of freely exchanging information.
Basically, I don't really recommend it to any experienced user nor anyone
with online access. How ever, it's pretty good for newer users.
Maybe what you (Joe) need to do is to let the old inCider/A+ subscribers
know you're still around., it seems that you're only ( I maybe wrong )
reaching the online community.
