Re: What's It All About, Ian?
I also sent Frank Lim a copy of SSII, but alas, his response were not as
well phrased as Ian's, nor do they indicate that he even read SSII. He
says:
>> page 2 to 5 - basically press releases ( which most can be read online;
>> at least on the Internet ). Also special offers for SenvenHills'
>> softs. Prices are good, same or better than Quality's prices.
I wasn't aware that Olivier Goguel wrote any press releases about his
current whereabouts, or that Bill Heineman had posted any press releases
about his next projects, nor that there was an Easter Egg bureau that
released press releases.
Also, the comments made about Larry Beyer's hard drive repair facility
were based on knowing the gentleman, having gone out to dinner with him,
and having talked to many happy customers of his. I also hadn't spotted a
single reference to Logo in the 2 years I'd been on c.s.a2.

Gimme a break! Think, my man. With subscribers all over the country and
all over the world, how could I have possibly done that? Should I have
printed the world wide long distance rates? Wasn't printing the area code
and the city enough for you? Well, e-x-c-u-s-e m-e!

It doesn't have "pretty much" everything that was there. It has a detailed
run down of every single Apple II booth that was there, along with the
phone numbers and addresses of every exhibitor. It was certainly much more
extensive than any report you wrote about AEW.

As stated before, that article arrived in folk's mailbox on 7/20/93, and
good month before 6.0.1 even showed up on the net.

Since the introduction of System 6, many an Apple IIGS user has started up
an application, only to find that the application substituted it's own
Finder Icon's for the ones the user had been using, or wanted to use. The
article describes in step-by-step fashion everything that needs to be done
for an Apple IIGS user to use their own custom icons.
In short, I think you scored great points with those who like to nitpick
and be negative. You did not score any points in my book, and now I wonder
where the thank you for sending you the complete Plotting GS a few weeks
ago went. FYI, that version I sent you was not available on the net, on
CIS, on AOL or on GEnie, until I sent you a copy to upload. You're
welcome.
