Re: RAMFast / SCSI question
I just added a RamFast SCSI card to my IIgs (thanks Thye Chean). It's
really _fast_ but I find that I cannot hold down any key during powerup.
That means I cannot press "0" to access the RamFast utilities screen, "1"
to "9" to boot from any of my 9 partitions, "option" to access the control
panel, etc etc etc. In fact, if I were to touch my keyboard during
powerup of my IIgs, I _definitely_ will get a "RamFast SCSI Fatal Error
xxxx". Is this a 'feature' of RamFast SCSI??! (if so, then they left it
out of the manual) Anyway, my system consists of: 4 meg GS Ram+ Rev D,
Zip GSX 9/64 and Audio Animator.
Everything works fine, however, after I let it boot up to Finder. Then I
can reboot and hold down any key during rebooting to access the various
features of RamFast. Just as long as I don't powerdown, I don't get any
RamFast SCSI Fatal Errors.
BTW, I also partitioned two 800k partitions and installed the Apple IIgs
Sales Demo on them. The Sales Demo sure runs fast on the card. :) Wonder
if anyone knows what is the name of the starting (and ending) jazz
soundtrack with the saxophone? It sounds very cool and I'd like to get
the cassette or CD (if it exists).
