DB-9 PIN-OUTS FOR APPLE SILENTYPE PRINTER:
=========================================
CAN THIS PRINTER BE ADAPTED FOR DB-25 USE?
==========================================
Recently I got an Apple "Silentype" thermal dot matrix printer (c1980).
This printer uses a similar thermal dot technology as the Apple Scribe,
a later model.
Was I have is: The Silentype printer (in apparently good condition), the
owner's manual, half a roll of thermal paper. I do NOT have the proprietary
interface card. I note that the only wire exiting from the printer is the
male db-9 style plug (similar to the plug of a mouse or joystick).
QUESTION: Since I do not have the special interface card, is there any
possible way that the cord could be spliced onto a standard serial db-25
connector? Does anyone have the pin-out information on this printer?
This information is not stated in the manual. Thanks. sebugg
