parallel interface card info

Anyone using an AppleIIe with an Epson printer?


( I asked this question about 4 months ago, but didn't really get
  many replies - now that schools back in session, though... )

I have an Epson printer ( Centronics interface ) which I would
like to connect to a friend's AppleIIe.  I went to ComputerLand - they
sold me Apple's Parallel Interface card.

Two questions:
1. what cable is necessary to connect these two?  I have tried the
	standard IBM PC/Centronics cables and have had no success.

2. If the cables aren't the problem, how can I check that the 
	interface card works correctly?


Any suggestions are appreciated.
