First time was last year. It turned out that the RAMFast had a bad
SCSI chip.
[Symptoms deleted]
It was the SCSI cable. I opened up the case, and straightened out the
cable (must have been a kink). Everything worked until I remade the cable....

Now I think I fried a chip on the hard drive. Whenever I boot up now,
I consistently get incorrect information. The RAMFast is unable to
find the serial number of the drive, and it reports the size of the
drive as 323 meg (my drive is a 105 meg Quantum). The RAMFast does
see the drive, and the drive sounds fine when it spins up.
It doesn't appear to be the RAMFast's fault. I'll spend the time
tonight going over the cable with a logic probe, but I'm not hopeful.
I wish there was someone nearby that I could test my hard drive
with....

So does this mean that the RAMFast is frozen in its current
incarnation?
Seth ---> thes+@cmu.edu It is not enough to watch.
