anyone who can help me...
My sister's off to college this Saturday, so, we're going to get her a new
printer. I figure that an HP Deskjet 500 is just about the right amount of
printer for the right amount of money, and I knew that people have had
success getting it to run with a IIe and AW 3.0. Since I didn't keep up
with all of the things entailed in this, if someone could please fill me
in, I would appreciate it.
1. What kind of cable do I need for serial port stuff? (I've heard IIe-IW I
works properly.)
2. Would anyone happen to have any info on running it with a SERIAL
Grappler+ (designed as a special IWII printer serial card...). I know it's
oddball, but it's what we have (it worked pretty nice on things like BASIC
programs, and stuff like that). If it doesn't work, then I'll probably just
buy a parallel card and do it that way....
3. What kinds of stuff is needed to print from AW3.0? I've heard about some
sort of patch.... is that patch necessary, or recommended, or makes it
easier to use, or what? And where can I get it? NAUG?
Thanks a lot for your time!
(and for your money, for that matter...)
