I never timed it, but HFS seems to handle large files faster than ProDOS.
Copying, deleting... etc.

All GS/OS applications should work fine, although some had to be upgraded
to actually support.  Salvation Bakkup (sp?) now supports it, ProSEL
I dunno, 6.0/6.0.1's Archiver works pretty well for me ( if backing to
floppies ), now I just use RamFAST utility to backup to tape drive.

~170mb worth took only about 40 min. or so.
