Other than the already mentioned advantages, HFS are actually faster
dealing with larger files than with smaller ones. However, I don't
know how the real world speed would compare with a ProDOS/GSOS
partition. My quess is that on the GS, HFS would be slower than
the native format.

The last time I checked, ProSEL 16's Backup/Restore utility did not
work with HFS. I believe the Archiver that came with System 6 and
the new release of Salvation Bakkup 2.0 are both compatible with
HFS.
