What is the best font to use with ShadowWrite v1.3.2 for reading text
files?
Under the Preferences menu, you are able to set your default text font.
I have found that Shaston (plain/size 8) is the most legible font for
reading text with any application in 640 mode.
However I have found that when importing any text file into a 640 mode
screen reader with the Shaston font, all Text file spacing control is
lost.
To be more specific, if you took this message off-line and read it with
ShadowWrite using the Shaston font for your text reader/display, you'll
notice that my SIG loses its character space format. However if you
changed your screen font to one of the following...
1. PC Monospaced Plain Size 10
2. Monaco (TT) Plain Size 10
3. Courier (TT) Plain Size 10 or 12
you'll see that my SIG at the bottom of this message maintains its true
Text line/character spacing. Now the problem is the font display
legibility. The three listed fonts work for text character spacing, but
they do not have the crisp screen appearance that Shaston has.
If you happen to know of a font that maintains proper text character
spacing and looks as good as Shaston using any 640 mode application,
please let me know.
ShadowWrite is my KEY off-line text reader / writing application.
