Anyhow, in Advanced Disk Utility, provided with System Software,
delete all of the partitions (if there are more than one), and make one
partition taking up the whole drive (even if it's bigger than 32 megabytes).
Then tell it to partition the drive, and it will ask you if you want
to do a low-level format. Say YES. Voila.
