DMA controller question...

I am working on a DMA controller for the AIIdsp board.  How
important is it that the destination address counter be selectable
as an up or down counter?  Is the ability to set the counter as
a down counter usefull?  If you think the ability to make the destination
address count down for DMA, please send me an example of where this
could be used.

I do not know if I can get the down counting into the PAL for the counters
but would like to know if it even usefull before I try to force it in.
Adding the down counters may increase the cost of the board, so please
consider it adding an extra $20 to $50 for this option is worth it.


On the other hand, would it be better for the address counter to be
a down counter rather than an up counter, but not both?
