This isn't intended as a flame -- just another opinion:  I think ProLine
was/is worth the price charged.  The SRP was set so that the wholesale price
would still provide the author with some source of income.  Many of the mail
order businesses offered ProLine at substantially lower prices than SRP. 
ProLine has continued to evolve while the SRP has actually been reduced.
