it was a joke guys... hehehe gotcha!
ya, Ive got a few rusting bits upstairs! more seriously, I have seen
data, < and it is commonly known in those back rooms at the "big" labs>
that cpu's do run a bit faster when cold... not really from the fact
that there is less resistance in colder conductors, <well sorta> but
more like how the flops can flip quicker... Kinda like when you are
cooking pancakes in 15 below zero, you tend to flip those puppies
a bit quicker... hehe.. seriously, the 66DX2's can deviate more than
<guess> 8 MHz or so if you take into account the entire board with
all its support chips. If you look at conversion times for A/Dc's
they more than significantly improve when the temp gets closer to 0.
The thing is, you have to worry about thermal cycling -- to a greater
extent where the chip-leads can "pull-off" the pads!

I've yet to shell out $$$ for a twgs, I mean, sure, life kinda sux
using GSOS only for a couple things, but well, sad to say it, but,,,
until I find or make a 33MHz GS, for under $200 (ya right) I'll be
saving my dinero for a pentium, or an R4400....
My latest apple related project entails creating <from scratch>
a complete engine-management/fuel injection unit for an old
turbo-toyota project! Hey- GM has,, and probably will until
after you and I are dead, has been using the 6502 or 6504 for
years. They just keep adding external modules and have the programmers
write new code! ::Dont ask me to get into the "Coverup" that I believe
GM initiated -- My own opinion -- I have reason to believe that around
1984,85,86,87 GM "removed" all documentation on the 6502 from public
facillities, and further discontinued the printing of any hardware related
material dealing with the 6502. I figure they bought up Millions of
6502's back then, and when people (2+hackers) found out about pin#6.
..well...... I dunno, maybe so, maybe fro.... I just loved the
days when apple would supply you with the "Apple II Technical Reference
Manual" Boy those were the days...
one more for the boys at apple::I hear a company plans to sell a
"Mac compatible" for $600 or so. hmmmmmmm...
