In general - you have wide latitude back and forth with versions.  It
doesn't matter which you upgrade first.  Either you get the new
features/bug fixes or not. :-)  Long ago (prior to the 1.0.0 release),
there was a protocol change that required some synchronization, but
there was a selectable compatibility checkbox for quite a while.  I'm
a firm believer in compatibility.  (You can still use the original DOS
ADT client with the ADTPro server.)
