ProTerm 3.1 demo problem

I've never much used ProTerm before, and am enjoying checking it out, but I
seem to have a problem that I don't think is simply a limitation of the
demo version...every time I start the program, I have to reconfigure
hardware, preferences, dialing lists and actually anything else it saves
regularly. I have it running on a hard disk three directories deep, and I
don't know if the directory name needs to be anything special, but anyway.
Has this happened to anyone? Can anyone help?
