  Could be power supply... did you do a full RAM test on your RAM card?
the IIGS self test won't test expansion RAM.

  Then again, it might not be a power supply.   Get the System 6
bootable floppy and try that.  Then if that works, reinstall the system
on your hard drive.  Maybe you clobbered one of the system files.
