What makes you say that?  Maybe you can tell me who told you I was not
going to fully support proportional fonts ;)  (I already support them now,
but 80 column text in PS fonts uses up less than 1/2 the page usually).

I've looked through the PCL 5 manual I borrowed, and it mentions that I
can get character spacing info from HP, which I might just do.  Either that
or I'll just hack it myself.  Either way, it shouldn't be too hard to add.

Well, if you say so.  Maybe you should take a look at the feature list I
posted just a little back.  If ProTerm 3.0 can do all that, I'll eat my
socks...

This is the way teach (for example) formats its text, so I intend to support
at least this method of formatting.

Why not just ^M^M?  I assume this would be a file with 'hard' carriage
returns at the end of line, which I could just ignore when I parsed it.
