Connecting MIDI keyboard to GS -- help please

Hi all,

I'm wondering about the feasibility of connecting my MIDI keyboard
to the GS.  Mainly I just want to play music and have the GS capture
it, let me edit it, save it, and print it out; that kind of stuff.
What software is best for this situation?  Is there anything PD/Shareware
to do this, or is there and inexpensive program I can buy?
