Chips are not defective :) Umm, no way to verify them (the easy way, unless
you have a RAM card that takes them, like the new CV Tech card). Ground
yourself, carry the around in antistatic foam, don't bend any pins,
etc. blah. The RF recognizes em automagically, if I recall correctly, by
scanning mem. Might be wrong here, so you set a jumper, so what :)

2 of them. 1MBit*4 times two == 1MBit*8 == 1MByte.
The chips are easy to recognize, just on the left edge two longish thin chips
sit. Yank them out and put the new ones in. (Left edge? Think so. Have a look.
They are pretty obvious, as not a lot on that card is DIP let alone socketed:)
