Althogh it's old, I've always liked MODULAE by the FTA. Now that my
GS is working properly again, I am very impressed with the GS<>IRC demo
(which has the benefit of running under the regular OS).

>2. What is considered the BEST word processing program for the GS?

For strictly writing, I like WordPerfect. It has (IMHO) the most
useful features a decent word-processor needs, and it's the only one I
know of that can handle my 50+ page reports without problems, and it
has a thesaurus. Version 2.1 continues to run well, even under System
6. Caveat: It doesn't use any 'pretty' fonts, just whatever your
printer is capable of.
For 'pretty' things with GS fonts, I tend to use EGOed (NDA from GS+
disk subscription) since it's quick and easy. Sometimes I use AWGS, but
I wouldn't really recommend it.

I started out with an internal modem, and ProTERM was the only reliable
program which also gave me VT100 emulation. It also has a pretty powerful
Macro language, if you need or like automating some of your online work.
I haven't checked out ANSI-Term 2.0, yet, but its supposed to do nice
color ANSI/VT100 emulations, but not as nice macros. Both are still ProDOS
applications, though.
I don't know about any *good* desktop comm programs, but there are
rumors about such things coming out, soon (can you say "vaporware").

>4. How about the best game ever released for the GS?

I like "Out of This World" by Interplay. Other, older titles that
I still love to play are "Pirates!"(GS), and "Dungeon Master".
