The Zips are clean because their power consumption is very light -- so light,
in fact, that excessive noise from the Rom 1 motherboard or other peripherals
has actually caused Zips whose parts were not well within tolerance to fail.
Zip told me they are convinced that there are production runs of the IIgs
out there that are much more noisy than any machine they had access to for
testing, because they finally had a customer bring his Rom 1 in and they
scoped it on the workbench while it crashed.

I was thinking more in terms of magnetic interference, but the frequency at
which the fan runs probably won't bother anything digital in the IIgs much.
Your earphone jack probably has a nice extra hum to it though :)

BTW what's the latest info on ordering sanyo 65816's? Anyone?
