I asked him. He has no hard evidence to demonstrate problems. He
suggested I try writing some code to use journaling and see if it works.
Great, but I don't have time. We are too short on [human] resources
around here to spend time testing things that are said not to work, when
nobody has actually come across any recent problems.
So: If anybody actually tries *using* journaling, I will be interested
to know if any problems come up.
(On an earlier note in this thread: No, MenuSelect does not call
SystemTask, so Run Queue routines don't execute during MenuSelect. It
has to be that way, because SystemTask lets NDA windows update, and they
would update on top of the pulled-down menu. Pulled-down menus are
blasted directly to the screen in the Menu Manager port, without changing
any windows' visRgns.)
