word files how to

I have had to transfer ms word files to the gs many times. By the Way you
are talking Macintosh right?  I will assume so.  Anyway this procedure will
get the data there but it may not look to good.  You have to do some cleaning 
up.  I use GSOS 6.0 with the HFS FST installed so I can read the Mac disk.

then I copy the file to the harddrive or make a copy of it so that the original
is safe.  Then I boot up Universe master and change the file type to ascii
text.  After that just load into AppleWorks gs or favorite wordprocesser and 
clean it up.  If it is IBM version save as text and use the Macintosh 
Apple file exchange to read the disk and transfer as ascii.  You will then
be able to bring it over to the gs with no prob.  No file type change is 
needed if the file is ascii already.
