Archive organazation questionare

I'm finally getting around to piecing together the cba2 articles stored
on wuarchive.wustl.edu, and now that I've got several hundered valid files,
I thought I'd ask people if they've got a desired format for the archive.

Currently, the "formatted" archive divides the files into subdirectories
based on their content, ie:

Appleworks/ Edu/ Lang/ Source/
Articles/ GS/ Misc/ Unix/
Comm/ Game/ Shell/ Util/
Demo/ Graphics/ Shell.Cmds/

This works fine and dandy for the most part, but can get a bit confusing
when faced with a utility that includes source, or a utility that's a
desk accessory.

At the moment, things are getting filed according to what they are --
if it's a utility that's a DA, it goes under GS/System/Nda. Anybody
hate this format? Anybody got a better idea?

Also, all new files that I'm archiving will have a .info file that gives
the sender plus some rudimentary information about the file. This info
is schlepped from the header(s) of the articles, or a README file in the
archive if necessary.

It's possible to fight intolerance, stupidity, and fanaticism when they come
separately. When you get all three together it's probably wiser to get out,
if only to preserve one's sanity. -- Adam Dalgliesh
