Do you mean the $C0mX location which turns the motor on? m=slot+8. X=9
turns selected drive on. Avoid dumping the I/O space $C000..C0FF with
the monitor...

I remember when I first got the //e (back in March of this year) and I did that. I thought there was something broken. I ended up taking out each IC, reseating it, and even swapping the RAM chips against the ones in the Extended 80-column board.

Then I did the same thing on an emulator and the IIgs, and realized that the crash was expected behavior. But there _was_ something wrong with the RAM! (another story, though)
