Psychoacoustics is the study of sound as it pertains to human hearing and
the sensations it causes. That's all it is. Effects like stereo panning
and reverb are psychoacoustic effects, so what Dr Tom claims to be doing
isn't some lie. He really IS doing psychoacoustic stuff with the IIGS,
golly gee whiz, wrapped in a pseudo-technical cocoon. Composers for the
GS have been doing it on a practical basis for years and years and years.

I downloaded NT Vamps5 to see what the big hubaloo was about, and am forcing
myself to sit through the songs. It sounds like he's reprocessed some
of the instruments and paired some up to provide some stereo positioning
effects. Nothing super impressive. The mixing sounds pretty bad too, at least
on headphones. One of the songs sounds like it was created by tone-deaf
monkeys smashing music boxes into little tinkling bits.

So far, I'm not impressed.
