Should I return to the GS?

Howdy All,
	I sold my GS about six months ago in the hopes of buying an 
IBM, say a 386 rather quickly. Alas work, family and VISA have other
opinions on my meager wages. 
	Let me give a liiiitle background here. I wanted to do two
things on my GS; Midi Music and Word Processing. Word Processing is
No Problemo (voice of Schwartzenagger) but the Midi Music was getting
pretty aggravating. I had advanced to the point where I wanted to be 
ablie to actually create digital waveforms (say visually ala Music+(?_
on the Mac) using the mouse and the screen. It would also be nice to 
have some kind of edit capability so if I flubbed the drum part or the
bass line 120 measures into the song I didn't have to start all over 
again. I felt a sense of meloncholy when I said goodbye to my GS. It
SHOULD have been able to do so much more for me. Hell, its all in 
there waiting for the right software to come along. 2.8 megahertz is
fine (its two million times faster than me anyway). Now lets quit this
slow dancin' (voice of Ross Perot) and cut to the chase. If I had the
programming skills I would have done it myself in Orca or Merlin C.
What I REALLY WANT TO KNOW is this....can the IIGS do the things I 
need it to do? I know I can WP to my hearts content. BUT...can it
sing the way I want it to? Or am I stuck with synthLAB Incomplete and
SoundSmith HaHa You'll Never See 1.0 Now! ???? I would be willing to
re-enter the fold but ONLY if I could get satisfaction on the 
MIDI/MUSIC front....Is it possible? Or just a pipe dream? 
	Oh, the reason I am ready to buy IBM is that after ten or 
eleven years of product loyalty to Apple I got kicked in the head with 
and iron boot. I WILL NOT buy a mac from such a corporate vulture.
