My IIGS works with an 1084S. If I remember correctly the pin connections are:

1084S analog RGB             IIGS RGB
    1  GND                      
    2  GND                      1, 6, 13   
    3  Red                      2
    4  Green                    5
    5  Blue                     9
    6  not used
    7  Composite Sync           3
    8  H. Sync
    9  V. Sync

I can't give any garantee. I haven't made the cable myself.
