I still laugh when I think that the current live span of any new top-
of-the-line Macintosh is numbered in months, whereas the Apple II has
long since outlived the original intended life expectancy.

System 6 is the latest version of the system software for GS/OS. It
harbours GS/OS version 4.0.2 (I believe) and has been endowed a slough
of features that few thought that any member of the Apple II line
deserved, let alone were capable of.

How has the Apple II stayed alive? There are many more reasons than I
can think of. If there were one main one, I would have to say that it
is because the machine commanded such loyalty from its owner. If you
haven't been able to tell by the tone of the conversation in this
newsgroup, people are quite militant about their Apples.

Besides, haven't you heard? "Apple II Forever" :)

Messages die in this group very quickly. You would have more luck
finding it on comp.answers or news.answers as messages in those groups
have a longer life span.
