    I'm assuming the 2400 cps figure is on uncompressed files.  There's
no way in hell you're going to get that sort of transfer rate with a
14.4k connect and a compressed file.  On a plain text file, you should
be able to hit almost 3000 cps with ZModem (more with YModem-G).
