Well, I'm sure you know about the Works-to-Works transporter that's
available from various archives. I've used it recently to convert an
AppleWorks file to a MicrosoftWorks file, and then tried to load the
MSWorks file into Word 5.0. The *ONLY* way I could get it to load in
was to treat the file as pure text, which meant I got a bunch of garbage
along with the text. And of course I don't have a copy of MSWorks that
I could use to save the file in a different format.

Why can't two programs by Microsoft be cross-compatible? Or am I
missing something here? Someone needs to kick Microsoft in the head and
inform them about cross-product support.

If anyone has found a solution for the MSWorks to MSWord conversion
problem (without having a copy of MSWorks available), I'd like to know.

If this topic has moved too far to the "Mac" side, I apologize for
posting on comp.sys.apple2. :^)
