DuoDisk HELP needed...

HELP!

I have an Apple //e (enh) with a DuoDisk 5.25 drive.  The left drive is
operational but the right drive gives I/O errors when formatting.  I
borrowed a copy of Copy 2 Plus to test the drive speeds.  The left (OK)
drive spins at the correct speed but the right (bad) drive speed
fluctuates alot.  I took the cover off and looked at the drive.  If I
gently rest my finger on the top of the head mechanism while the speed
test is running the speed settles out at a steady 200.

Question:  Does the head simply need cleaning or is there a problem
with the pressure being placed on the head against the diskette
surface?

I am trying to repair this machine for my 12 year old and 8 year old
nephews who would like a computer but can't afford to buy one.  Thanks
