The idea was proposed that archive users must make a one-time donation
before they can use it.  Thoughts:

1.  This would increase the administrative burden of the archive
administrator(s).  It may be more important to just have the files
kept sorted, etc (such as recent cco.caltech changes).

2.  (Assuming that people actually pay their share-ware fees _now_) I
don't think that a one-time fee of $20 would pay for much shareware;  your
cash reserve would soon be depleted.  I don't think that you could expect
shareware authors to like bulk-discounts, that being the only way (that
I can see) of stretching your cash.

While I have no specific gripe about the one-time donation as a condition
for use, I don't think the shareware idea will fly...
