Nightmares File
Open letter to the poster.
What the heck am I supposed to do with this huge binary file that is
not in SHK format?
The original post was in BINSCII, unfortunately, the file numbering
scheme confused me no end i.e., 0-9, L-P. I felt that A-J must have
been missing or a new numbering scheme was upon us. To clear this up I
sent mail to you (the author). To date, no reply.
Other posts in the time frame mentioned that the CRC said the post was
flawed so I nuked my copy and didn't download it.
A little later the HUGE post appeared. Being basically trusting, I
downloaded it. BINSCII didn't touch it so I assumed the poster had
managed, somehow, to post a binary file across the net - so I tried
Shrinkit on it and was told that it wasn't a Shrinkit archive.
Based on later posts I'm led to believe that the binary file was posted
and that it was shareware - which a number of people disputed. They
stated that it was a rip-off of others work with some sort of minimal
modifications.
Given all of the above - what should I do with this file? (Doctor, what
should I do with this rectal thermometer?) Should I change the filetype
so that some music player recognizes it OR should I put it in the bit
bucket?
Kind Regards,
