The largest instrument size you can have is 32k. All the different instruments
combined need to be less than 64k, in addition you have to fit them together
rather like a puzzle. Basically, any instrument has to fit on a page boundary,
with the size of the page being determined by the size of the instrument.
In general, the size is the next power of two greater than the size of the
instrument, ie a 3k instrument would have to be on a 4k boundary. This
somewhat limits the amount of ram you have to play around with.
I suggest you play around with SoundSmith some, and check out the "Doc Ram"
option (OA-D). This will show exactly what's happening much better than any
simple explanation.
