I've never used Stacker so can't vouch for its reliability, however I do
have SuperStor Pro installed on my PC and can honestly say that I have
never had a problem with it.
The earlier versions of SuperStor (i.e. 1.0, 1.3, and especially the one that
came bundled with DR-DOS) were plagued with problems, but since upgrading to
2.0 and then Pro I have never encountered a problem which the
supplied utilities (which are excellent) couldn't fix. With a suitable
cache installed, it does improve loading times for some, though
not all, programs. Whether or not you get a performance boost would
really depend upon the type of processor and hard drive you have.
However, its functioning IS completely transparent and I would be very
interested to see how AutoArk and HardPressed compare to it.
