Yes, but you should be able to connect directly with the helios
server and get the full newsfeed. That's what I do from Scarborough.
Anyway, I don't think this is an issue that concerns other people. We
can discuss this on CRS if you prefer.

I'm not proposing that we rename csa2 to csa2.misc. The top-level
comp.sys.apple2 group will still exist, giving this proposal some
continuity with the past hierarchy. Most of the highly visible csa2
readers aren't just going to hide in one of the subgroups. Csa2 should
remain more or less unscathed, except that it will be a more manageable
newsgroups. The subgroups will serve special-interest groups which
don't affect the casual csa2 reader or Apple II user. The loss of a
sense of community (which I agree is important) will be minimal.

Why are we thinking about putting the groups back together? The
charters of each group has been carefully thought out to minimize the
amount of cross-posting. That's one reason why I expanded the scope of
the original "comp.sys.apple2.bbs" newsgroup to include all forms of
data communication, otherwise we would see questions on Proterm,
AppleTalk, Apple-to-IBM transfers, etc. cross-posted back to csa2. The
other three (marketplace, programmer, usergroups) are pretty much
exclusive and self-contained. We may see cross-posting between
csa2.programmer and csa2.gno, but that's understandable.
