I think many of us do use Archiver to back things up.  I had a problem with
it in the beginning; it kept on freezing after certain amount of backup.  But
that was due to bad SCSI cable.  Since then, I haven't had a problem with it.
I use volume backup always...

I would recommand using shift-boot when you're doing backup.  It's always
safer that way no matter what you use, ProSEL, Archiver, or Salvation.

If you can't pin the problem down, you shouldn't blame Archiver immediately.
Try it with shift-boot, and see what happens.  If it indeed Archiver's problem,
I'm sure the Apple ][ CEG people would be glad to fix it.
