Interchange File Format (RTF)

I am trying to do some word processor writing where I would like to work
on the same files on two different platforms, Mac and GS. On the Mac
word allows saving in the Interchange Format (RTF). Is there any WP
program for the GS that can utilize the RTF format ie. open an RTF file 
and get the formating info and save a file in the RTF format so that
I could do the same with GS files on the MAC?
