Yes: the Apple II binary files (e.g., Bank Street Writer Plus) can be 
transformed to ASCII TEXT files "print to disk" which then can be 
transferred by e-mail to any other computer.  If they are binary program
files, I believe that ShrinkIt can convert them to something else which 
can be transmitted to other computers (shooting from the hip on second
point; caution).
