Re: Sweet16 plans
I've been laying in wait for a IIgs emulator that supports even half
the flexibility of what Virtual II used to do back when, I really want
to work through several hard drives full of partitions and put the and
end all A2 archive together.
The original desire to have the Apple II ethernet card was this, only
to find that it wasn't much, if any faster than using the Etherwave
and dealing with SCSI voodoo ..
A lot of things have come .. and gone since. Larger capacity drives
that don't cost a ton. SCSI has come and largely gone, and messing
with setting up a Color Classic the other day to get some stuff off
400K disks was a freaking chore within itself. The fallout is still
all over the floor around the desk. It ended up being a 9600 and a
torn down and serviced floppy drive because I didn't feel like having
to dig that drive out of that Color Classic.
I have a lot of A2 stuff stashed away on drives and disks.. that one
day might see the ether again..
I'm leaning towards just adding NetATalk to the Mythbox project ..
seeing as, the IIgs is lightning fast compared to most anything else
these days. Booting from solid state media is much faster than the
hard drives, it makes that transition from GS/OS to ProDOS 8 and back
much closer to an emulator in speed. I've g
