Apple ][gs HardDrive

I would like some opinions please.

I have heard about these IDE HardDrive controller cards and I can get IDE 
drives cheap!
 
SCSI is the only format I have heard about (locally)
 
Which is better and what are the advantages?  (Becides the availiable SIZE of 
SCSI drives, I do know about the 256K limit...)
