I have recently been encountering problems with AppleWorks GS1.1 where
during a letter composition in the Word Processor, the software locks up.
Yesterday, I was trying to write a letter with AWGS and by the time I got
to the second paragraph in the letter, everything would lock up and the
only way to restore the operation of the program would involve a system
reset. This would lose any data entered in the word processor.
I am currently running AWGS from my hard drive into a ROM1GS with 4MEGs
of RAM and a 7MHz ZIP. My system files eat up alot of memory and I have
recently upgraded my Pointless 1.0 to version 2.01
I hate to think that Pointless is messing up my AWGS1.1 however, the
problem started soon after installing it. Has anyone else been having
system lockup problems with AWGS1.1? If you have, what was the problem
and how did you fix it?
Final Note: After 1.5 hours of system lockups and system resets while
trying to type that letter yesterday, I never did finish it. I will try
deactivating Pointless today and reloading the AWGS1.1 files into the
hard drive. We'll see what happens.
One More thought... I remember reading that there are some True Type
fonts that have been responsible for messing up Pointless. (ie. Chicago)
There were some Mac TTFonts that mess up Pointless. Does anyone have any
detailed info about the TTFonts that mess up Pointless and how to
differentiate them from the good ones?
