Re: HFS bug in System 6?
While on the subject of the HFS bug, I encountered a problem
with Adv.Disk.Util which I hope someone could tell me how to solve it.
Basically, what I did during the weekend was to backup my 105 meg
Quantum hard disk and delete all exisiting partitions, combining them
into one 105 meg partition. Then I click on the Partition button and
answered Yes when asked if I wanted a low-level format to be done.
After that, I was asked if I wish to use the hard drive with a
Mac. I answered Yes again but got the error message that Adv.Disk.Util
cannot load the HFS driver, so it won't configure my hard drive for use
with a Mac.
Now, I've got HFS.FST inside my FSTS folder and it is active
(enabled). I'm able to read/write 800k HFS disks on my floppy so I
don't know why Adv.Disk.Util can't load the HFS driver. I've even tried
putting Adv.Disk.Util into the FSTS folder (thinking it might need
HFS.FST to be in the same folder) but to no avail.
Any help on this will be appreciated. I think it's also the
reason why my hard disk hang each time I reformatted any partitions into
HFS and tried copying files into it.
